2. History and Development
In 2003, Dubai International Humanitarian City was established as the world's largest logistics center for humanitarian aid.
In 2011, the center moved to its current location in Dubai Industrial City and tripled in size.
In 2017, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, set about expanding it to three times its current size to meet the growing demand for emergency aid. After the expansion was completed, the IHC's area increased by 300,000 square feet to 404,000 square feet.
