The four pure electric commercial vehicle models released this time include ETM6 pure electric truck, EV light truck T5, EV medium truck ETH8 and B12 pure electric bus, covering light and medium commercial trucks and pure electric buses, meeting the needs of multiple scenarios such as urban logistics, long-distance transportation and public transportation.

Tian Chunlong, general manager of BYD Commercial Vehicle Division, said: "BYD has always been committed to promoting global new energy transportation reform. The launch of new energy commercial vehicles in the UAE not only provides local companies with efficient and environmentally friendly transportation solutions, but also helps the UAE achieve its green transportation development goals."

In recent years, facing the increasingly severe challenges of climate change and the increasingly urgent pressure to reduce emissions, countries in the Middle East have accelerated the promotion of green energy transformation and economic diversification, and the development of green transportation has become an important part of it. With its high cost-effectiveness and beautiful design, electric vehicles made in China have been favored by more and more industry insiders and consumers in the region. The Middle East is becoming a "blue ocean" for Chinese electric vehicle companies to explore the international market.

The UAE has formulated a "National Electric Vehicle Policy" to promote the development of the electric vehicle industry, providing preferential measures such as free registration, free parking, and reduced charging fees and tolls. The UAE has converted 20% of federal government vehicles to electric vehicles, and set a goal of at least 30% of government vehicles and 10% of road vehicles to electric vehicles (pure electric vehicles or hybrid vehicles) by 2030. By 2050, 50% of UAE road vehicles will be electric vehicles.

BYD began to enter the Middle East market in 2023, entering the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, Israel and other countries. In May 2024, BYD officially opened its first store in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. In June 2024, BYD completed its 1,000th delivery in the UAE. BYD has established a leading position as an electric vehicle brand in the Middle East.
